The Friends of Mt. Rubidoux was "re-formed" in 1994 (after a period of inactivity) by a group of interested citizens many of whom independently care for the Park or routinely exercise there. Official recognition as a volunteer organization was received from the Riverside Park and Recreation Department, the Park and Recreation Commission, and the City Council in February, 1995. The Officers are President, Secretary, Treasurer, Librarian, and Education Program Coordinator.
As of June,
2002, there are 319 paid members. Annual dues are $5 for individual or
$10 for family.
